Astrology: Mercury

Mercury:

Mercury is in a sign for about a month.

Mercury returns most exact at ages 7, 13, 26, 33, 39, 46, 79, 92. Minor Returns at 20, 40, 52, 60, 65, 78 and 80

Mercury Retrograde happens three to four times per year. Mercury slows down, and from our view on Earth, appears to stop (station) and move backward (retrograde). It's an optical illusion, since there is forward movement, like speeding by a slow-moving train—as it recedes, it appears to go backward.

Your experience of Mercury retrograde will be unique to you and your current life cycle, but the general idea applies. It is a time to slow down the mental technology and recheck, revisit, reassess your situations.

I like to see where Mercury is in correlation to my natal chart to get clues about the specific area of life and the mental material that may be up for review.

**How is the current Mercury cycle affecting you astrologically?

Find Mercury on your chart:

·      Write down any planets that are within a 10-degree orb of your natal Mercury:

·      Write down the sign Mercury is in:

·      Write down the house position:

  • Where is Mercury in the sky today?
  • How is that impacting your natal chart?
  • What is coming up for you in your thought patterns and information transmission?

***Take the info you have gathered about your natal Mercury and come up with a phrase or short story about your communication style.

All of astrology can be used like the telling or creating of a mythical journey. It does not have to be taken literally and is best when used as a tool rather than a dogmatic belief system.
